EDT CURRICULUM
EDT’s curriculum is designed to assist students in learning English as the natives do. The Curriculum is an answer to every learner’s desire to use the language faster, more easily and more gratifyingly. The complete course runs for 6 months to maximize the effect. Each month is carefully planned. It has well selected materials and classes according to the levels of the learners. The program starts with LISTENING, the core skill in learning English like the natives do. It goes to SPEAKING, READING, WRITING and IMMERSION to commence the program. Through the various activities, students are going to learn the necessary skills for the conversation very naturally and effortlessly.
LISTENING | Overview: The students will be prepared to the different sounds of English. This will eventually increase their confidence of being able to understand the Native speakers of the language. Objective: The students are expected to pay attention to the auditory activities that are provided in the class. Familiarity of the different sounds is supposed to be achieved at the end of the month. Activities: Multi-Media Class by level (English cartoons, animations, movies, dramas, TV shows, YouTube videos, CNN, BBC, FOX news and so on) Music class Dialogs of Filipino and Native teachers Listening Games |
LISTENING / SPEAKING |
Overview: With developed Self-confidence, the students are provided with audio activities they can work together. Objective: The student will improve their pronunciation and Verbal and Non-verbal communication. Activities: Longer dialogs: Listening with script. Listen & Repeat: Listen to sentences and repeat. (length according to levels) Listen & Imitation: Listen to sentences and imitate. Listen & explain: Listen to sentences and explain them in easier ways. Listen and Interact: Listen to an issue and interact by giving opinions. |
SPEAKING | Overview: Students will be exposed to various situations that entail them to apply what they learned. Objectives: A clear, concise and correct construction is expected to be achieved in this stage. Activities: Multi-media class by level (explain Native language movies, dramas, TV shows, cartoons, YouTube videos, news and so on to teachers and others in English) Photo description Public speaking: Students are given a topic Debate Presentation |
READING | Overview: The students will be dealing with a variety of Reading Materials. The class will be focusing on their ability to interact between the words that are written. There will be reading for the majority of the words, reciting aloud what was read and cementing the content in the memory by summarizing it. Objective: Learners should be able to recite, summarize and build up bigger vocabulary. Activities: Enjoying Reading Comic books Be informed by Magazines Surfing Website Articles Understanding Various Manuals & Instructional Materials Learning Formal Expressions with Newspapers Practicing Nuances with Novels Learning Richer Expressions through Poems |
WRITING | Overview: This is the Engagement stage of the students to the diverse Communication Sites and Aspects. Objectives: The students will be writing short and long messages making it always a point that every structure is well organized, has good syntax and appropriate to the readers. Activities: SNS Communication (like Facebook, Twitter and so on using short forms of expressions) Text messages (The most convenient and effective way to improve writing skills) Emails (a way to improve formal writing skills) Forum Commenting and Blogging (Sharing opinion) Document and Article Writing Essay Writing Creative Writing (exploring imaginations) |
IMMERSION | Overview: To commence the 6 month program, the students will be exposed to learning and using the language outside the 4 corners of the room. There will be tasks for them to deliver that will require them to use both Casual and Formal English. Objective: The students shall be performing bigger tasks in larger venues with greater number of people using the target language. Activities: Giving Lectures to different organizations about a certain topics Delivering a talk pertaining to “Culture Give and Take” Performing Extra Curricular Activities Hosting an Event Getting an On the Job Training |

Power Test: Grammar Vocabulary Listening
| This examination is aiming at boosting the 3 basic skills in learning the language. It is a 50 item test that will be taken for 50 minutes. | 1st Friday of the month | Compulsory |
Mastery Test |
A 1 to 1 and Group class teacher made test. This is to check the mastery of the students on a certain coverage that has been taken in the class. The students are taking examinations that are 25 items only.

Distinctive Tests: TOEIC TOEFL IELTS
| The goal of giving these examinations to our students is to introduce to them these most renowned tests as well as to prepare them since these tests are common requirements for their desire to work and study abroad. | 3rd Friday of the month | Optional |
Progress Test |
This is a level check test. Here, the students will determine their new level. Standardized test is given to different levels.
